How to Get to Heaven

How to Get to Heaven from

Did you know that there are approximately 350 roads and streets in Stoneham?  And although Stoneham covers about 6 square miles, did you know that the road  system if stretched end to end, would be close to 25 miles long? Did you also  know that the streets and roads of Stoneham connect with Malden, Medford,  Melrose, Wakefield, Reading, Woburn and Winchester? You certainly can get to a  lot of places from Stoneham!

Yet with all those roads leading around, through, in and out of Stoneham, did  you know that not one of those roads can take you to heaven? The most important  destination you will ever need to be sure of is your eternal destination. The  Bible says “And as it is  appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27) So my friend,  I would ask you “What is your  eternal destination?”

The Bible also says “There is a way  which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” (Proverbs 14:12) We read  over in John 14:6 that Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh  unto the Father but by me.”

When it comes to your eternal destination, the Bible has the only answer and  that answer is found in Jesus Christ. So, how does a person come to Jesus?

The Bible gives us clear directions.

1. Realize that you are a sinner. In Romans 3:23 we read “For all have sinned and come  short of the glory of God.” That means  everyone in Stoneham, Massachusetts; all our surrounding cities and towns; our  state, our country, the world over all men are sinners and in need of a Savior.  We come short of God’s glory.

2. Realize there is a penalty for your sin. Not only does our sin keep us out  of heaven, it condemns us to hell. “For the wages of sin is death . . . “ (Romans 6:23)
Sin brings physical and spiritual death, and eternal separation from God.

3. Realize Jesus paid the penalty for our sin. “But God com-mendeth His love toward us, in that,  while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.“ (Romans 5:8) “God loved us so much that He sent His only Son,  Jesus, to die on the cross for our sin. II Corinthians 5:21 tells us that “. . . He hath made Him  (Jesus) to be sin for us, . . .that we might be made the righteousness of God  in Him. “

4. Repent of your sin and receive Jesus as your Savior. The Bible says in  Romans 10:13 “For whosoever  shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.“  My friend, whosoever means you! Anyone in  Stoneham, Massachusetts, or anywhere else may call upon the Lord Jesus and have  their sins forgiven.

God’s directions are  clear, you have God’s Word on it.  Your eternal destination lies ahead of you.
The question remains, where will you spend eternity?
I urge you now to confess your sins, and receive Jesus Christ as your personal  Savior.

If we can help you, we would love to show you more from God’s Word about how to be sure  of your salvation or how to grow in your Christian life.
